Biography: Nathan Arnold is a policy adviser at the U.S. Department of Education, focusing on higher education issues from both a legislative and regulatory perspective. His work primarily focuses on drafting and implementing regulations governing the Title IV student aid programs, working with Members of Congress and their staff to draft legislation amending the Higher Education Act, and preparing senior Department officials for Congressional testimony. Most recently he has led rulemaking efforts implementing new limitations on Direct Subsidized Loan eligibility, changes to adverse credit determinations for the Parent PLUS loan program, and regulations governing campus debit cards and the Federal student aid disbursement process. Nathan is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the University of Virginia School of Law.
