Biography: Rich has been a Financial Aid Administrator for 24 years. Currently he is the Financial Aid Director at Anne Arundel Community College where he oversees a professional full time staff of 11. Beginning his professional career in financial aid in 1990 at Columbia International University as the Financial Aid Director, Rich was involved with the South Carolina ASFAA serving on the Federal Relations and Training Committees and was subsequently elected as the Vice President for SCASFAA. In 1998 he became involved with the Maryland and Tri-State ASFAA's as a presenter and member of the Federal Relations Committee, eventually serving as the Tri-State Chair for 2005-06. Rich has served the EASFAA region since 2001, was President in 2011-12 and has been on the Development, Training, Federal Relations, Multicultural/Diversity, and Conference Committees. Rich has served on the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Board of Directors, was on the Re-Authorization Task Force and its subcommittee on Loan Issues and the Leadership Development and Professional Advancement Committee. Rich has extensive experience presenting on topics related to higher education laws and regulations and topics related specifically to funding of student's under graduate degrees.
Rich's education includes an AAS degree in Administration of Justice from Onondaga Community College in 1972, a BS degree in Criminology from Sam Houston State University in 1974 and an MA degree in Intercultural Studies from Columbia International University in 1990 where he then served as the Financial Aid Director for 6 years prior to joining Midlands Technical College in 1996, subsequently joining AACC in October 1998.
