Biographical Sketch:
Anya Ilkys is the Director of Student Financial Literacy at Northeastern University. She first came to Northeastern as an Undergraduate student, and upon graduation started working in Student Financial Services as a Financial Aid Counselor. While working there, she obtained 2 Master degrees – an MBA and a Masters in Organizational and Corporate Communication. She was promoted to an Assistant Director of Communications, where she managed all social media platforms, grew the follower base, and wrote creative content. In addition, Anya worked on all internal and external communications for Student Financial Services. While working as an Assistant Director for Communications, Anya became interested in topics of financial literacy, and with help of senior leadership developed a plan to launch the Center for Financial Independence. With its student-driven design, the Center has a unique hybrid model that encourages students to create, innovate, and pitch ideas to the student idea incubator. As the director for the Center, Anya oversees all events and daily operations of student workers.
