Biographical Sketch:
Laura Diven-Brown is the Financial Aid Director at the University of Mississippi. She has a degree in psychology from the University of Illinois, and a Masters in Higher Education from Ole Miss. Her background is social services. She worked previously at a crisis hotline in Chicago, an economic education nonprofit for K-12 teachers, a respite program for Alzheimer’s caregivers, a hospital-based senior wellness program, and a sheltered workshop for developmentally disabled adults. The last 20 years, though, have been spent in the field of financial aid. At Ole Miss, Laura is responsible for managing aid programs totaling $250 million, serving 80% of the student body annually at multiple campuses with a population totaling 21,000. She has served as the Mississippi MASFAA State President and the Membership Chair of SASFAA, among other roles.
