Michelle W. Chapman Bio Education: AA- Manchester Community College BA -Clayton State University MA - Central Michigan University EdS -Argosy University EdD- Argosy University Work Experience: 30 years of experience working in higher education with focus in enrollment management (student affairs): • Extensive knowledge in Admissions, Records, Registration, New Student Orientation, Advisement, Financial Aid, and Veteran Services: • Assist students in evaluating their abilities, interests, talents, and personalities to develop realistic academic and career goals. • Provide students, parents, and community partners with career and educational counseling, regarding college majors, college admission requirements, entrance exams, financial aid, trade or technical schools, military, and apprenticeship programs. • Help students develop job search skills, such as resume writing and interviewing techniques. Currently works in the financial aid department at AMSC as a financial aid counselor. Current job description: • Administering title IV funding through the Federal Student Aid program; • Counseling students with regards to funding their education experience and teach a financial class that provides financial and default management information; • Serves as VA Certifying Official and Program Coordinator for Veterans Services, working closely with our Service Members, Veterans, and their dependents; my main role here is to insure that Veterans and their family members are able to receive funding through the Veterans Administration’s Education program. Personal: Originally from Newark, NJ and Windsor, Ct Currently resides in Newnan, GA Mother of two, Melody 27 and AJ 24 Favorite past time: reading, traveling to the beach, and watching the HGTV and food channel.
