Biographical Sketch: Al Hermsen is currently an independent financial aid consultant. He retired as Director of Financial Aid at Wayne State University in 2013. He is also retired from the University of Michigan Financial Aid office in 2007 where he spent the majority of his career, including some time in the accounting department. He has chaired or served on the NASFAA Research Committee numerous times, as well as several other NASFAA committees. Al has also been active in the Michigan and Midwest Associations.
