Biographical Sketch:
Phil Schuman serves as Director of Financial Literacy at Indiana University, managing the award-winning IU MoneySmarts program, including authoring content and resources for students on moneysmarts.iu.edu, implementing a required financial literacy module for all new students, and directing the weekly podcast, “MoneySmarts U.” Phil is the founder of Indiana University’s MoneySmarts Team, a group of undergraduate and graduate students trained to provide one-on-one education and group presentations on finances to students across all IU campuses. He also teaches a personal finance First-Year Seminar at IUPUI. He is the co-founder and co-chair of the National Summit on Collegiate Financial Wellness, a conference devoted to pushing forward the field of financial literacy in higher education. Phil graduated with an MBA from Indiana University and a BA in Psychology from DePauw University.
