Biographical Sketch: Louis L. Hirsh retired in June 2012 as Director of Admissions at the University of Delaware and holds degrees in English from Brandeis (A.B.) and Columbia (M.Phil). He is a member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).
In 2015 Mr. Hirsh began a 2-year term as chair of the NACAC’s Admissions Practices Committee. He previously chaired the Potomac & Chesapeake ACAC’s Admissions Practices Committee. He has been on conference panels for NACAC, PCACAC, the College Board National Forum, and Virginia ACRAO.
He was recognized as the 2005-06 Counselor of the Year for Delaware by PCACAC. In April 2012 he received PCACAC’s John A Blackburn Award for Ethics in College Admissions.
Mr. Hirsh currently heads Louis Hirsh Consulting, which assists the University of Delaware’s Institute for Public Administration in managing the state’s College Access Project and conducts workshops on college admission for secondary school counselors and faculty.
