Biographical Sketch:
Elise is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the company's research programs. This includes in-house initiatives and the funding, oversight and evaluation of third-party grants and programs in support of access, with an emphasis on enhancing diversity, affordability and the value of legal education. She joined Access Group in June 2014. Prior to joining Access Group, Elise served as a senior program officer for the Postsecondary Success strategy at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation from 2012–2014, where she managed a portfolio of grants with organizations aimed at improving transparency and accountability in undergraduate higher education. From 2006–2012, Elise served as program director for postsecondary institutional studies at the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) at the U.S. Department of Education. In that role, she oversaw the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), the primary source for data on colleges, universities and technical and vocational postsecondary institutions in the United States. Before joining NCES, Elise was director of research and policy analysis at the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. Elise has completed coursework toward a Doctorate degree in higher education at the University of Maryland at College Park, and she earned a Master of Science degree in higher education management at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The Catholic University of America, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in politics.
