Over the past two years ideas42 has conducted more than a dozen projects applying insights from behavioral science to improve student financial and academic outcomes. With funding from the Gates Foundation, Lumina Foundation and others, we partnered with 2- and 4-year schools across the country to design low cost solutions to problems related to financial aid and degree completion. Rooted in decades of academic research, behavioral science offers an accessible toolset to refine programs and policies to reflect enduring human tendencies. We would share learnings from our work, draw out system-level insights, and discuss current and future applications.
