The National GRACE Foundation was founded in 2011 after our one year old daughter Grace was diagnosed with a rare form of pediatric cancer in 2010. GRACE stands for Growing Recovering and Achieving a College Education. The foundation helps children with cancer go to college by providing FREE college admissions and financial aid counseling, advocacy services, scholarships and much more to pediatric cancer fighters. Since 2011 we have helped over 800 families navigate the complex college admissions and financial aid process. In addition we have helped these pediatric cancer fighters secure over $600,000 in additional scholarship funding from colleges AFTER we advocated on their behalf. Our foundation was recognized as one of the 20 most innovative cancer programs among over 800 global submissions in the LiveSTRONG Foundation's Big C Competition. This global competition sought out some of the most unique and impactful organizations helping those affected by cancer. We are an all volunteer organization and have no paid employees. We rely on college admissions and financial aid experts who volunteer their time to help our families. The foundation holds a number of conferences across the country each year bringing families affected by pediatric cancer together to discuss the college process. The College and Cancer Connection (CX3) is a two day event designed to educate health professional, social workers and families on the college process. The events bring admissions, financial aid and college disability services experts together to help demystify the process for families. We are a little organization making a big impact!
