Biographical Sketch:
Wood has been a Federal employee for nearly 38 years, the last 23 with the U.S. Department of Education. He was a charter member of the Direct Loan Client Account Management Group when the Direct Loan Program came up in 1995, began working with COD in 2000, and was a member of the team that developed, and delivered, the initial COD training at the Electronic Access Conferences in late 2001. In 2008 he was assigned as the Lead on the Direct Loan OnBoarding Team that successfully migrated 4,000 Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) schools to the Direct Loan Program when Congress in 2010 mandated all federal Title IV loans be originated as Direct Loans. He is now a staff member of the Federal Loan School Support Team, and supports over 1,300 assigned schools in their efforts to successfully process title IV awards through the COD system.
