Biographical Sketch:
Laura Keane is Chief Policy Officer for uAspire. Laura leads the organization’s federal and state policy efforts to leverage uAspire's frontline expertise into systems change that makes financial aid systems more equitable, efficient and effective. She advances student-centered policies to reduce barriers to help all young people find an affordable pathway through degree completion. Laura originally joined uAspire as the Vice President of Innovation and Partnerships, where she created the Award Letter Data Initiative, designed the postecondary advising model, and led the organization’s Training and Technical Assistance program, which now trains over 2,000 practitioners and reaches hundreds of thousands of students on an annual basis. Prior to joining uAspire, Laura led College and Alumni Initiatives at Mastery Charter Schools – a network of turnaround schools working to close the achievement gap in Philadelphia. Laura began her career as a high school history for six years in New York City and Philadelphia. She earned her B.A. at the University of Notre Dame and Ed.M. at Harvard University.
