Biographical Sketch: Carrie Fernandes is an Associate Director of Financial Aid at the University of Connecticut and has served in this role since 2015. Her role focuses on compliance, fund management, and student service. Prior to this position, she worked in the proprietary sector and other four-year public institutions. She has done work on Capitol Hill through the National Association of Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) to help advocate for reduced verification burden on students, the elimination of origination fees, and additional funding. She holds a B.S. from the University of Connecticut and is currently pursuing a M.S. in Organizational Management from Eastern Connecticut State University.
