Biographical Sketch: Julie Collins, currently serves as the Director Office of Graduate Admissions and Financial Aid at the Medill School at Northwestern University (Evanston/Chicago, Illinois). Prior to her role at Medill, Julie was the Senior Assistant Director of Admission and Financial Aid at the Kellogg School of Management-NU. In both roles Julie has worked closed with international students throughout the various stages of the enrollment stages. At Medill she spearheaded recruitment efforts and programming to improve the admissions process for our growing Chinese student population. She has an undergraduate degree in Political Science and a graduate degree in International Relations from Western Illinois University, and is an Ed.D. student at DePaul University. Julie’s academic record and professional experience informs the work she does with international students. Her research interests are ways to support students’ transition to graduate school, and women of color and their leadership development at colleges/universities. Julie is a member of the NASFAA, NADHOE, and ACCRO.
