Biographical Sketch: Sylvia Martinez is currently the Associate Director of Client Services, for the Office of Financial Aid at Colorado State University. Being part of the Office of Financial Aid for the past 12 years, Sylvia has held multiple positions that allowed her to promote equity and access within the office, including creating systems that promote access and funding for students who are undocumented or DACAmented. Knowing the generational change that can take place through higher education, Sylvia is passionate about working with students and families from historically underserved populations and helping to demystify and break down financial aid barriers to promote college attainment. Sylvia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Master’s degree in Counseling & Career Development from Colorado State University. She currently resides in Fort Collins with her supportive husband Frank and their amazing son, Antonio.
