Biographical Sketch: Melissa Van Meter is a two-time Ohio University alumna who began working in the university’s Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships as a Federal Work-Study student her freshmen year. Twenty plus years later, she serves as Senior Associate Director of Operations. During her tenure, she has directly and indirectly supervised the verification, federal grant, employment, online learning, and Satisfactory Academic Progress areas and manages professional judgment processing. She is also responsible for communication and compliance efforts for the office, including policy and procedure creation and management along with federal reporting and audit preparation. Melissa lives in a very rural part of Southeastern Ohio with her husband and two children; the oldest of whom joined the Ohio University Bobcat family in fall 2020.
