Biographical Sketch: Heather Gaumer is the Director, Assistant Region Head – Midwest for Sallie Mae and works with the colleges, universities, high schools and organizations in Iowa and Missouri. Prior to joining Sallie Mae in 2017, she worked in admissions and financial aid for 12 years at two colleges in Iowa. She is a former president of the Iowa Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and volunteers with several other organizations that help students and families with personal financial literacy and college planning. Heather graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Simpson College and a Master of Public Administration degree from Drake University. She and her husband, Doug, live in Indianola, IA with their son, Forrest.
