About a month before the Department of Education (ED) announced the use of prior-prior year (PPY), Lawrence University had already decided to use PPY in 2016-17 for the awarding of institutional aid to incoming students. In this session, the Lawrence University financial aid staff will share the outcomes of their experience in using PPY including the timing of receiving documents and making awards, how PPY data in Institutional Methodology (IM) compared with the prior year data in Federal Methodology (FM), and the impact of PPY on professional judgments.
