What Bursars Wished Directors of Financial Aid Knew

Based on FAS’s work with experienced bursars and student account managers, as part of its new Student Business Services (SBS), the presentation provides insight of what a financial aid director’s counterpart in the business office would like us to consider.   This includes the importance of strong communications, coordination of timelines, impact of adjusting student aid packages (particularly after the final bill is sent or into the next term), and an understanding/appreciation of the scope of work performed in their offices besides managing student accounts.  This includes sponsored billing, third party management, collections, along with financial reporting requirements.
