Many four-year private nonprofit colleges and universities use various institutional aid strategies to attract and retain undergraduates who are unable—or unwilling—to pay the full tuition and fee price. The National Association of College & University Business Officers' (NACUBO) annual Tuition Discounting Study (TDS) measures institution- and student-level tuition discount rates and other indicators of institutional grant awards to first-time, full-time freshmen and all undergraduates who attend private non-profit colleges and universities. This presentation will provide an overview of the 2015 TDS, which reports discounting rates during the 2014-15 academic year as of the fall 2014, and preliminary estimates for 2015-16.
