New rules went into effect on July 1, 2021 for R2T4 for modules that change how schools identify students who are eligible for R2T4 as well as the way schools calculate earned aid for withdrawn students. The changes, which were part of the negotiated rulemaking updates on distance education and innovation and posted to the Federal Register on September 2, 2020, were meant to resolve technical problems and inequities in the rules existing for students enrolled in self-paced and modular programs. This session will spotlight those changes and discuss ways financial aid administrators have approached implementation. Note that this session will focus entirely on the changes and should not be considered a discussion on the basics of R2T4.
