This session will present the results of an analysis by NASFAA, NASPA, and HCM Strategists examining the HEERF program and its implications for future federal, state, and institutional policy implications. This work builds upon an earlier report on the CARES Act HEERF program, and was informed by a practitioner survey, a large-scale student survey, and a state level analysis conducted throughout 2022. It reflects the experiences of students during the pandemic and their perceptions on receiving emergency grants, with special focus on the experiences of minority serving institutions and their students.
