In the year of 2014, the University of Central Florida (student population 63,000) embarked on a journey to implement a policy and procedure for documenting academic activity in courses to directly impact the disbursement of federal aid. It involved the choppy waters of administration buy-in, developing the least intrusive methods in respect to the academic freedom and burden on faculty, and collaborating with Registrar's, Academic Departments, and Computer Services to develop and implement an effective system. The end result satisfies audit requirements and yields positive academic activity confirmation in more than 95% of course enrollments.
